You will lose approximately 30-38% from hanging weight to the meat in your freezer, giving you approximately 47 lbs of meat in the freezer. The following price breakdowns are based on an average animal and are estimates. Your animal could be a bit larger or smaller than this and your final price for meat in the freezer can vary depending on the animal size and butchering choices.
Eighth (1/8) Beef - approximately 69 lbs hanging weight @ $9.84/lb = $678.96 You will receive about 47 lbs of various cuts.
All eighths are a little different, but the following is an example of what you could expect on an eighth with a 69 lb hanging weight: approximately 2-4 packs of grilling steaks (including rib steaks, T-bones, NY strips, sirloins), approximately 3-4 roasts (including chuck, sirloin tip, arm, rump, round), approximately 12-15 packs of ground beef, approximately 4-7 packs of other cuts (including stew, short ribs, round steak, cube steak), and about 1-2 packs of shanks/osso bucco & soup bones.
